Data visualization- what to use when?

Indicator:

To show whether you are above or below the target, use indicator

Line chart:

To show the trend over a period of time.

Bar chart:

It is great for comparing several different values.

Column chart:

It is useful for side-by-side comparisons of different values.

Pie chart:

It helps to communicate what each value contributes to the whole.

Area chart:

It gives a sense of overall volume, as well as proportion taken up by each category.

Scatter chart:

It is used to visualize the distribution and relationship between two variables.
