What is Kanban?

Kanban is a Japanese word: Kan means visual, ban means card. Kanban is a method for managing the creation of products with a focus on continual delivery without overburdening the development team. It is a process designed to help teams work together more effectively.

The Core Principles of the Kanban method is as follows:

  • Agree to pursue incremental, evolutionary change
  • Initially respect current roles, responsibilities and job titles
  • Leadership at all levels in the organization
